Many items on Ampwall allow you to configure Visibility (who sees them) and Purchasability (whether or not they can be purchased). Each setting has a few options. Presentation sometimes differs between pages (something we’re tightening up!) but the behavior is straightforward.

Visibility controls

Visibility controls who can see an item and how it is presented. There are three settings for this.

Purchasability controls

You can control a Supporter’s ability to buy an item with simple controls. The language might differ across pages — Music looks different from Merch — but the idea is generally the same. There’s a checkbox labeled “Allow purchase”.

In some cases, additional behavior will tag along with your Purchase setting. If a merch item is a physical edition of a music release AND the music release has an active preorder, the merch item’s page will get some extra text identifying it as a preorder.

Album specific controls - For sale, Free download, and Not available

For sale

The default state. People can pay for the album at or above your set price. If you set it to $0, they have the option to get it for free OR pay for it.

Free download

If for whatever reason you do not want to let people pay money for a release, you can toggle “free download”. This means that regardless of the price you set on the album, the album will only be available as a free download. Note that an album that is set for free download cannot be scheduled for a pre-order.

Not available

This means that the album cannot be downloaded, no matter what. Only playback via web or the app is available.
