You can give your supporters downloads of any of your Music Releases. There are two approaches to this: links and codes.
The main approach to gifting downloads is through Links. These are simple web addresses that you can share in whatever way you choose. A link is highly configurable. You can set a max number of downloads, start and expiration dates, and choose whether it should respect your preorder settings or immediately gift the whole release.
Links are perfect for promotion. You can create a limited event, “30 free downloads available, move fast!” or “Download my new album before Friday!” They’re also great for sharing your release with friends before it’s publicly available.
Navigate to the Music section of your artist page (see Navigating between your artists and admin areas) and go into any music release. Expand the Announce & promote section and scroll down to “Free download links”. Press “+ Create” and follow the prompts.

Once your link is created, copy and paste it wherever you want! For example, here’s a free download for “Legacies of Frailty” by Woe, Ampwall founder Chris’s black metal band. https://woeunholy.ampwall.com/lfg/SL61SRJOL.
Codes are unique single-use strings, manually typed by someone who wants to download a release. They’re best used with physical merch, like if you want to print codes for inclusion in a physical music release, or if you’re running a promotion and want to give single-use codes but don’t want to generate new Links over and over again.
Codes are created in bulk. This is a relatively new feature that doesn’t get a lot of use so there’s room for improvement. Right now, each release is limited to 500 codes but we can increase this for you if you have the need, just reach out at [email protected].
Navigate to the Music section of your artist page (see Navigating between your artists and admin areas) and go into any music release. Expand the Announce & promote section and scroll down to “Free download codes”. Press “+ Create” and follow the prompts.

Once your codes are created, press the “Export to CSV” button to download a CSV file containing your codes. Open this in a text editor or import it into Google Docs and you’ll see the codes. You can then work with each code or groups of codes in whatever way you want.
